Talk by Marco Cremona entitled “Conquering Everest “

This Lecture takes place after the AGM and all non-members are welcome

Marco Cremona is a Mechanical Engineer who subsequently specialized in Water Studies and Hydrology. He has been working in the water sector for almost 20 years and has participated in a number of projects of national importance, such as The First Agricultural Waste Management Plan for the Maltese Islands, The Storm water Master Plan for Malta and was the expert in The National Climate Change Adaptation Committee.

In 2009 his Hoter Sewage-To-Potable-Water Process was a finalist in the prestigious CNBC Good Entrepreneur Competition, which was televised worldwide. His Water Self-sufficient Home won The France 5 TV Report Terre Competition for the best environmental project in Europe.

In May 2010 he was one of the first 3 Maltese to climb Everest, and won The Man of the Year Award in the same year. He is in the running to winning The Stockholm Water Prize 2012, the equivalent of the Nobel Prize in the water sector. Marco regularly undertakes voluntary projects in developing countries, including Kenya, Post-Tsunami Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Ethiopia. Marco is married to Joanne, and have recently adopted two infants from Ethiopia.
